Wow. That is *old school*, haven't seen the rainbow one in a while, mostly the white/gray(grey?) ones.
There's a "funny" store on why Apple chose the logo with a bite taken out of the Apple and in Rainbow colors. The reason being that the truly awesome Alan Mathison Turing died from a poisoned Apple (cyanide).
Unfortunately it's just a story (the origin of the logo, poor Turing really did die of cyanide poisoning).
(I took quite a bit of pleasure in seeing the word verification being "magic", which is always such a nice term when discussing computing:))
